Change Management: What is it, really?

Change management is about the key stakeholders impacted by the change and provides a structure that will allow the change to be implemented thoroughly, seamlessly and long lasting.

There are many different models that can be used for change management, but all the articles use the same key elements to consider for success: top down support, buy-in from people impacted, involving the right people in the process, impacting the right objectives, clear communication channels with transparency and ensuring people are ready and trained properly.

From my experience, the most valuable of these are those that involve the people impacted by the change. Ensure they are heard and have a sense of ownership in the decisions being made. Allow for training that provides an opportunity for each stakeholder to participate and provide insight.
